A sustainable school

The Lycée Français René Descartes (LFRD) is firmly committed to sustainable development!
Under the direction of the Deputy Principal, Stéphanie Leleu, the team has been working throughout the year to raise pupils’ awareness of environmental issues. The ‘Eco-delegates’ have been involved in an exemplary proactive approach, and new sorting practices have been introduced within the school.
And that’s not all! Thanks to all this hard work, the LFRD has put together a solid dossier to be awarded the label “Etablissement Français à l’Etranger en Démarche de Développement Durable” (EFE3D) at level 3, the highest level of certification.
The LFRD is proud of this achievement and will continue to work towards a sustainable future.
Well done to all the students for this unwavering commitment! Stay tuned to find out more about our upcoming environmental initiatives.
Think before you throw
Here is a short film made by a group of secondary school eco-delegates for the “International Film Festival on Sustainable Development” organised by the Lycée Français de Hong Kong. This initiative highlights our students’ commitment to protecting the environment and their creativity in raising awareness of this cause.
Events of the week
On 6 June 2023, we were honoured to welcome H.E. Dr. Say Samal, Cambodia’s Minister of the Environment, and his delegation to the Lycée Français René Descartes in Phnom Penh, as part of Environment Week. Welcomed by our Principal, Mr Perinet, and the management of the LFRD, the Minister had the opportunity to talk to our eco-delegates and watch the short film made by our students.
The parents’ evening for Environment Week took place on Thursday evening! The eco-delegates enthusiastically presented the work they have been doing since the beginning of the year. Well done to you all for getting involved! We look forward to continuing to protect our beautiful planet together.
